Lawrence P. Maya graduated from Loyola University School of Law and has handled personal injury and worker's compensation cases since 1999. Throughout his career, Lawrence has focused on being an advocate for individuals injured as the result of negligence and wrongdoing, holding both the defendants and insurance companies accountable for their actions. He has collected millions of dollars in damages on behalf of his clients, by both settlement and numerous trials. Lawrence has been awarded the Lead Counsel Rating for his trial work and has served as an instructor and judge teaching trial skills to new lawyers. In addition, Lawrence has appeared and argued before the Illinois Appellate Court on behalf of his clients, authoring a number of appellate briefs. He is licensed and has represented clients in both Illinois state court and the United States federal court. Lawrence is the litigation partner at Stone & Maya, P.C., serving clients throughout Chicago and the State of Illinois.
Lawrence's experience ranges from car accidents to complex medical and nursing home malpractice matters. He has successfully prosecuted cases involving catastrophic injuries resulting from 3 rd degrees burns to the death of a patient caused by careless and inattentive nursing care. Lawrence has successfully represented clients injured on the job over the years, protecting their benefits and obtaining compensation for their injuries. He has received awards for outstanding client service and his numerous positive reviews from previous clients show his commitment to obtaining the best outcome possible on every case. Lawrence's aggressive pursuit in each case is reflected by his results obtained for his clients.
Lawrence is active in both the legal and local community. He has served as a Sponsoring Member for the Little Village Chamber of Commerce in Chicago, promoting the interests of the community. He has also authored a legal column for a local area newspaper to explain and assist the public in knowing their legal rights. Lawrence has been a guest lecturer discussing gun control laws in the State of Illinois.
