Thomas Moss is an attorney at CTM Legal Group. Tom joined CTM Legal Group in 2020 and primarily focuses on commercial litigation, real estate, and bankruptcy.
Tom is an experienced litigator in the practice-area spanning collection of benefits for multi-employer ERISA Trust Funds, construction industry accounts and other commercial delinquencies and unpaid wages. Prior to joining CTM Legal Group, Tom mainly focused on litigation concerning participants in the construction industry. For the past 20 years, Tom represented numerous construction trade unions, their affiliated ERISA Trust Funds and union members in the collection of delinquent fringe benefit contributions and deductions through ERISA and LMRA litigation including federal alter ego and successor liability claims. Tom has also prosecuted numerous mechanics' liens, bond claims against public project payment bonds and wage and benefit bond claims, and related actions to protect and recover unpaid wages and accounts. Tom vigorously represents his clients' interests by analyzing the debtor and setting and utilizing optimal procedures to maximize recovery. Tom has a record of proven success achieving recovery of a variety of delinquencies in federal and state courts through litigation, judgments, statutory claim procedures, negotiation and settlement.
Tom also has experience in a variety of matters involving real estate. Tom has conducted commercial and residential real estate transactions; drafted construction agreements, sales/ purchase contracts and lease agreements; and been involved in foreclosures and real estate tax exemptions.
Tom has also participated in bankruptcy matters providing services for individual and commercial debtors as well as Union-side creditors by establishing priority claims, through defense of preference actions, and adversary proceedings to determine dischargeability.
Tom earned his bachelor's degree from Indiana University, his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, and his LL.M. from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Tom is a member of the AFL-CIO Lawyer's Coordinating Committee.
