Kate Petri is an associate attorney at CTM Legal Group. Kate earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Indiana University. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate Degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. During law school, she was a staff member of the Law Journal and a member of the International Mediation Team. She traveled to Bologna, Italy to compete as a mediator and negotiator in international competition with teammates from the Czech Republic. She brought her mediation skills home to Chicago to become a volunteer mediator with the Center for Conflict Resolution and a restorative justice practitioner. Kate was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November of 2024 and worked as the managing attorney at a personal injury firm before she joined CTM Legal Group.
Kate's experience is primarily in labor and employment, alternative dispute resolution, and personal injury law. She has represented employees in negotiations at the Illinois Department of Human Rights, assisted immigrant workers facing labor trafficking and wage and hour violations, and worked as a federal intern at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She also mediates cases involving landlord-tenant, stalking/no-contact, attorneys' fees, and juvenile criminal disputes. As a trained restorative justice practitioner and mediator, Kate takes a holistic approach to the practice of law, considering clients' needs and interests above all else.
Kate is also a classically trained pianist and percussionist, performing with the Chicago Bar Association Symphony Orchestra.
