Jason Shimotake

Jason Shimotake is Of Counsel at CTM Legal Group, where he represents clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters. Jason began his career on the south side of Chicago in communities like Chatham, Roseland, and the South Shore. During the housing market collapse and economic recession, he counseled resilient individuals—parents on the brink of losing their homes to foreclosure, single mothers juggling multiple jobs to cover rent and daycare expenses, and hard-working people left with mounting debt and no clear path forward. Their stories reshaped his purpose and deepened his commitment to doing more for those in crisis.

In his career, Jason has guided thousands of clients through financial hardships, focusing on debt relief, credit counseling, and personalized debt management solutions. His mission is to make sure each person he works with feels heard, supported, and secure in their journey toward a fresh financial start.

A native of Chicago, Jason left to attend Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, where he met his wife. He returned to Chicago in 2005 and graduated from UIC Law School (formerly John Marshall Law School) in 2008. He now lives in the city with his wife and their Maltese, Yuki.
