Mohib Husain brings a rare dual perspective to state and local tax matters, having worked as both a government tax enforcement attorney and a defense attorney in private practice. His career reflects a deep, firsthand understanding of how state revenue agencies build, litigate, and enforce tax cases.
Before entering private practice, Mohib spent years on the front lines of state tax enforcement. He served as a Special Assistant Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General for the Illinois Attorney General's Office, litigating tax enforcement matters on behalf of the state. He also served as a Technical Advisor and Advance Program Specialist for the Illinois Department of Revenue, where he gained firsthand insight into state collection procedures and administrative strategy.
Mohib now applies that public-sector insight to represent individuals and businesses facing tax disputes and collection actions. Prior to joining CTM Legal Group, he represented clients at national tax and collections firms, including Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP and Mandarich Law Group, LLP. His background also includes public accounting experience as Tax Staff at Crowe Horwath LLP, giving him a strong command of accounting mechanics alongside legal compliance.
