Charles Howell is an associate at CTM Legal Group. With a focus on consumer rights, Charles has frequently represented clients in actions involving foreclosure defense, the Truth In Lending Act (TILA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Illinois Consumer Fraud Act (ICFA), and claims related to fraud, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty. Charles is also experienced in real estate transactions including addressing servicing, lending, and title disputes and assisting clients in finding equitable resolutions to distressed properties.
Charles strives to be a compassionate litigator dedicated to providing exceptional counsel to individuals facing complex and sensitive legal matters ensuring that clients understand their legal rights, options, and potential outcomes.
Charles has a commitment to public service. Charles received his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law with a pro bono notation for extended pro bono work with the Attorney General's Office of East Central Illinois and the Public Defender's Office of Cook County. Prior to law school, Charles graduated magna cum laude from Northern Illinois University earning a Bachelor of Arts in political science and served as the Political Science Department's representative in the Committee on Improvement on Undergraduate Education. Currently, Charles serves as a Trustee on the Board of Trustees for the Acorn Public Library.
Charles is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois.
